Flat Roof Systems We Install
We install SBS / two-ply torch-on (modified bitumen), plus EPDM, TPO and PVC — the systems proven to handle Calgary's freeze-thaw and UV. Each has its place; we'll recommend based on your roof's slope, drainage and use.
Our Install Process
We strip the old system, inspect and repair the deck and drainage, and install the new membrane with properly detailed flashing at every penetration — the spots where flat roofs almost always fail first.
Calgary Freeze-Thaw Is Hard on Flat Roofs
A Calgary flat roof can freeze at night and thaw in a chinook by lunch, dozens of times each winter. That cycle works water into every seam and pinhole, then expands it as ice. Ponding water accelerates all of it. This is why drainage design matters as much as the membrane itself. When we install a flat roof we correct slope and drainage issues first, because the best membrane in the world fails early under a permanent pond.
Choosing Between SBS, EPDM, TPO and PVC
Two-ply SBS torch-on is our default recommendation for most Calgary buildings because the two bonded plies give you redundancy and it handles our temperature swings well. EPDM is a solid economical single-ply for simple roofs. TPO and PVC are reflective and weldable, good for big commercial decks. Each has a place. We will tell you which fits your roof, your budget and how long you plan to hold the building, and we will tell you straight when the cheaper option is genuinely fine.
