Half the winter leaks we chase are not holes in the roof at all. They are ice dams: snow melts over the warm attic, refreezes at the cold eave, and the next melt backs up under the shingles. Chinooks make Calgary an ice dam factory. The fix is rarely just shingles. It is sealing attic air leaks, adding insulation and correcting ventilation so the roof stays uniformly cold. We diagnose the cause, not just the stain on your ceiling.
What a Proper Leak Repair Includes
We open the area, dry and inspect the deck, replace damaged underlayment and shingles or membrane, and re-flash the penetration properly. Then we water-test where practical. You get photos of what we found and what we did. If the surrounding roof is near the end of its life, we say so and give you numbers for both paths, repair now or replace once.
